Our projects. Art and science

Since beekeeping is an old craft it is closely related to human activities of both art and science. Over the years we have involved in a number of R&D projects funding through local grants as well as EU funding calls. These projects were mainly related to improving honey standards as well as the development of high value products based on local honey.

As part of these projects we collaborate with a number of local academic institutions as well as foreign universities and organisations. Golden Island was also involved in the setting up and maintaining the Pierre Hughe exhibit – Exomind during its presence in Malta. This was a challenging project which gives a new dimension to a bee colony.
